# Chase Missing Inputs Without Doing the Chasing

## How do you chase missing inputs from your team?

To chase missing inputs from your team, tell Maito who owes what and when. On the schedule you set, Maito asks each person by Slack or email, checks your spreadsheet for what's in, reminds anyone missing, and posts a status that names who is done, who isn't and any number that looks wrong.

## Example

Loop run: Wednesday 4:00 PM · Forecast chase

**Maito** (4:00 PM):

Forecast status, Oct 21: 5 of 7 leads are in.

**In:** Dana, Priya, Sam, Leo, Nina  
**Missing:** Alex (reminded twice, no reply) and Jo (asked at 10:00 AM, replied "tomorrow")

Total so far: $1.31M for Q4.

Catch: Leo's number is $410k, 40% above his Q3 forecast with no note. It might be in different units. I've asked him to confirm. The sheet won't be final until Alex, Jo and Leo are all done.

Next reminder to Alex goes out at 9:00 AM tomorrow.

**Tom** (4:08 PM):

give Alex and Jo until Thursday noon. I'll chase Alex in person.

**Maito** (4:09 PM):

Noted. Alex and Jo have until Thursday noon. I'll post the final status at 12:30 PM and stop reminding Alex.

## What it won't do

It can only nudge people, not make them reply, and it can't know why a number is off. It asks the person who sent it instead of correcting it.

## Questions

### How does it know who has replied?

It checks the sheet in Airtable or Microsoft 365 and the replies it gets in Slack or by email. Someone who answers 'tomorrow' is listed as missing with that note.

### How often does it remind people?

As often as you say, for example twice a day until a deadline. You can change the deadline or stop reminders for one person in the thread.

### Does it run every week?

Yes. You set it up once as a Loop on a schedule, and it asks, reminds and reports each time.
