## How do you write a weekly parent newsletter?

To write a weekly parent newsletter, give Maito access to the school calendar and your announcements folder. Each week it drafts the newsletter, adds a translated version if you ask, and flags dates that don't match. You get a Word file to review. Nothing goes to families until you approve.

5\. Lost and found cleared Nov 1.

Catch: the calendar says conferences are Nov 5 and 6, but last week's announcement said Nov 4 and 5. I used the calendar.

Spanish version included. Sources: school calendar, announcements folder. Attached: newsletter-oct26-en.docx, newsletter-oct26-es.docx. Nothing is sent until you approve.

## What it won't do

It can only report what is in the calendar and your files. Anything that lives in someone's head, such as a last-minute change, needs to be told to it.

## Questions

### Does it send the newsletter to parents?

No. Maito attaches a draft and waits for approval. Your office sends it.

### What if the calendar and an old announcement disagree?

Maito uses the calendar and tells you about the conflict, so you can confirm which date is right.

### Can it write a Spanish or other language version?

Yes. Ask for a second language and it attaches a separate file for each version.
