# Client Approval Process: Sign Off on One Version

## How do you get client approval on a specific version?

To get client approval on a specific version, ask Maito in Slack to send the file for approval. It drafts an email that names the version and date and asks for a clear reply. After you approve, it sends the email, chases if you set it up, and logs the approval with who and when.

## Example

**Noor** (3:05 PM):

Send Globex's logo v3 for approval. Mia and Dev are on the thread.

**Maito** (3:08 PM):

Draft ready, waiting for your okay:

"Hi Jo, attached is Logo v3 (globex-logo-v3.pdf, saved Oct 15). Please reply "Approved v3" so we have it on record. Production starts Oct 26."

Catch: Jo approved v2 on Oct 12, but her email says "the blue one". v2 and v3 are both blue, so I named v3 and its date explicitly.

Source: Drive folder Globex/Logo. I'll chase on Oct 21 and 23 if there's no answer. Send it?

Send it.

**Maito** (5:12 PM):

Jo replied "Approved v3" at 5:12 PM. I logged it in the Globex file: v3, approved by Jo, Oct 19. No chasing needed.

## What it won't do

It records what the client replied. It doesn't decide if that reply counts as a formal approval under your contract.

### Does it send to the client without my okay?

No. It drafts the email and waits for your approval before sending.

### How does it avoid mix-ups between versions?

It names the version and saved date in the email and asks the client to reply with that name, so the record is unambiguous.

### Can it chase the client?

Yes. It follows up on the dates you agree, and stops when the client replies.
