To price the extra work clients ask for, ask Maito in Slack whether a client has gone past their package. It reads the engagement terms, hours logged and requests in the files, totals the extra work and drafts a flat fee or add-on for you to review. Nothing is sent to the client without your approval. ## How it's done today Extra work piles up until the owner has an awkward pricing talk months later. ## What Maito does 1. Draft a change proposal for the owner ## Example **Lena** (10:02 AM): Has Acme Dental gone past their package? I want to raise it before the Q3 close. **Maito** (10:03 AM): Yes. Their package covers 12 hours a month. Since Sept 1 we've logged 26.5, so 14.5 hours are outside it. **Outside the package:** • Cleaning up 212 uncategorized card transactions: 6.5 h • Two extra payroll runs for the new hires: 3 h • Mid-month reports for the bank loan: 5 h At your $95 rate that is $1,377.50 unbilled. One catch: section 4 of the engagement letter says out-of-scope work needs written approval, and I found no approval email for any of it. Billing it as is could be disputed.
