## How do you summarize an employee engagement survey?

To summarize an employee engagement survey, ask Maito in Slack. It reads the results in SurveyMonkey, counts responses, groups the written comments into themes, compares scores by team and with the last survey, and drafts suggested actions so leadership can review what changed before the meeting.

**Rosa** (3:10 PM):

Summarize the Q3 engagement survey. Leadership meets Thursday.

**Maito** (3:13 PM):

Q3 survey: 61 of 74 responded (82%), overall score 7.4, down from 7.6.

**Themes in comments**  
• Unclear priorities: 22 comments, mostly product and engineering  
• Team spirit: 18 positive comments  
• Workload: 14 comments, 11 from engineering

**By team:** Engineering fell from 7.8 to 6.9 on workload, the biggest drop. Support is up 0.5 on manager trust.

**Catch:** Design has 3 responses, so I've left it out of the team view. Showing it could reveal who said what.

**Possible actions:** one priorities list per quarter, a workload check-in for engineering, and a pulse survey in 6 weeks.

## What it won't do

Maito finds themes in what people wrote. It cannot tell why a score changed beyond the comments, and the actions are suggestions for HR and leadership.

### Which survey tool does it use?

SurveyMonkey, connected through MCP.

### Does it show who said what?

Not by name. It reports themes and counts. Small teams are worth treating carefully, and Maito can note when a group is too small to share.

### Can it compare to last quarter?

Yes, if the earlier survey is in SurveyMonkey or in your files. It shows the change by team.
