## How do you summarize a long thread or document?

To summarize a long thread or document, mention Maito in the thread or share the file. It reads the whole conversation and any linked docs, then lists what was decided, what is still open and what is asked of you. It also flags points that sound settled but were questioned later.

## What it won't do

It can't read threads or channels it wasn't mentioned in. It summarizes what was written, so a decision made in a call isn't captured.

## Questions

### Which threads can it read?

Only a Slack thread where someone has mentioned it. It can also read docs you share or in connected tools such as Notion, Confluence or Box.

### Does it name who said what?

Yes. It credits decisions and open points to the person and message where they came from.

### Can it summarize an email thread?

Yes. Forward it to the workspace address and it replies with the summary.
