## How do you track close blockers until sign-off?

To track close blockers until sign-off, set a Loop for month-end. Maito creates the checklist in your task tracker with an owner for each item, checks the books for workpapers, and chases what's open. It posts the blockers in Slack and marks the close done only when all are signed off.

Staff track reconciliations and missing inputs from memory, and close drifts.

## What Maito does

4.  Report blockers daily until sign-off

## Example

Loop run: Oct 6 9:00 AM · Close checklist

**Maito** (9:00 AM):

September close, day 4. 18 of 24 items signed off. Due Oct 9.

**Blocked (3):**  
• Bank rec, operating account: $1,206.40 unmatched, waiting on Rosa.  
• Payroll liabilities: the Sep 30 payroll report hasn't been uploaded. Owner Jo.  
• Accrued rent: landlord invoice missing.

**Waiting on review (3):** fixed assets, prepaid expenses, sales tax.

Catch: the $1,206.40 is almost exactly the Hooli refund from Sep 29 posted twice, so I'd check that first. Source: task tracker and the accounting workpapers.

**Rosa** (9:12 AM):

good catch. Chase Jo for the payroll report and ask the landlord for the invoice.

**Maito** (9:14 AM):

Asked Jo for the Sep 30 payroll report by noon. The landlord email is drafted for your approval, since it goes outside the firm. I'll post status again tomorrow at 9.

## What it won't do
