Lindy alternatives

Lindy now sells an AI teammate for the whole team, priced per active user. What are the best Lindy alternatives? And which ones don't charge for every person?

Dmitry Dubovetzky

Why do teams look for a Lindy alternative?

Teams look for a Lindy alternative when the per-user price grows faster than the work, when occasional Slack users turn into paid seats, or when they need the same teammate to fix the product, not only the follow-up.

Lindy Team costs $49.99 per active user per month. Anyone active in Slack takes a seat: people who join through Slack get a seven-day introduction, and direct signups are billed right away. Ten active people cost $499.90 a month, before credit top-ups.

Credits add a second limit. Each seat brings 5,000 credits to a shared pool, monthly credits don't roll over, and credit-using work pauses when the pool is empty until someone buys more at $10 per 1,000.

Reviews pull in two directions. On G2, Lindy averages 4.9 out of 5 across 171 reviews, with praise for templates, email handling, scheduling, and call notes, and complaints about growing costs, niche integrations, and repeated prompting. Lindy on G2. On Trustpilot it averages 1.7 out of 5 across 40 reviews, mostly about credit use, trial conversion, cancellation, and unexpected charges; Lindy replies to some with refunds. Lindy on Trustpilot. Many G2 reviews describe Lindy's earlier workflow builder, not today's teammate.

What does Lindy do well?

Lindy is strongest at personal communication work for each teammate, such as inbox triage, scheduling, meeting notes, and follow-ups, alongside a shared teammate in Slack channels.

When someone mentions Lindy in a Slack channel, the work is visible to the team; in a DM, it's personal. Lindy also works over email and iMessage, with a web app for management.

Its memory is a versioned file explorer: personal files stay private, team files are readable by everyone and edited by owners and admins, and built-in files are read-only. Team skills are shared and managed by admins, and Lindy picks the relevant skill on its own.

Routines start from a schedule, an email, a Slack message, a calendar event, or a finished meeting, and a dry run reads real data without sending anything. You choose which actions in shared Slack threads need approval.

A team whose day is meetings and email gets a lot from that package.

What are the best Lindy alternatives?

  • Tasklet runs persistent business agents per organization, with unlimited members.
  • Adapt is a company agent platform at $14 per user plus usage.

Is Maito a good Lindy alternative?

Yes. Maito is a good Lindy alternative for teams that want one AI teammate for the whole company, including the people who ask once a month, at $149 per workspace with unlimited people, plus your AI provider's usage.

Anyone in a channel where Maito is invited can mention it and reply in its threads, without a Maito account, account linking, or a seat. People who want private DMs link their own account from Slack's Home tab in one step, and no admin has to approve them.

Maito covers the same communication work through each person's connections: a personal Gmail or calendar connection stays visible only to its owner, and shared work uses connections the team chose to share. It remembers each person's role and preferences privately and learns company facts from shared threads.

Where it goes further is the product itself. When a customer call turns up a bug, the same thread can go from the call notes to a reproduced bug, a video, a fix with tests, QA, a pull request, and the follow-up email.

@Maito notes from today's call with Halden are attached. Draft the follow-up, and look at the invoice PDF bug they showed me.

MaitoAPP3:05 PM

Follow-up is drafted in your Gmail with the three action items from the call. The bug is real: invoice PDFs cut off line items after page one when a customer has more than 25 seats. Video of it attached. PR #377 fixes the page break and adds a test with 60 line items. QA passed on the preview.

I'm on billing, first time in this thread. Can the fix ship before their renewal on the 28th?

MaitoAPP3:10 PM

Yes, it's ready for review now. I'll add the release date to Marta's follow-up once it merges.

How does Maito handle what Lindy handles in DMs?

Maito keeps DMs private to the person who sent them, keeps personal connections personal, and never teaches the company from a private conversation unless asked.

Each DM conversation belongs to one Maito member. A connection marked Only me works in that person's unshared chats, and no one else's agent can use it. When someone wants a fact from a private chat to become company knowledge, they ask Maito to share it; the conversation itself stays private.

Lindy's meeting recording is the clearest thing Maito doesn't package the same way. Maito works with the notes, transcripts, and recordings your meeting tool already produces, through your connections.

Is Viktor a good Lindy alternative?

Viktor is a good Lindy alternative for teams that want no seat fee and heavier work, such as dashboards, internal apps, and code, from Slack or Microsoft Teams.

Viktor charges $100 a month for the whole workspace and includes 40,000 shared credits, with top-ups and spending caps. It does reports, campaigns, CRM updates, and code fixes with pull requests, and remembers personal, team, and workflow knowledge.

Unused credits roll over one billing period, then expire, and work pauses at zero.

Is Claude Tag a good Lindy alternative?

Claude Tag is a good Lindy alternative for companies already on Claude Team or Enterprise that want a shared Claude in Slack channels with careful memory scopes.

Each channel keeps its own notes, public channels add to a workspace memory, and DMs stay separate. Routines post updates, watch channels, and check monitoring. It commits and opens pull requests as the Claude GitHub App.

Channel work is billed by usage to the organization, and member access can include everyone in the Slack workspace.

Is Tasklet a good Lindy alternative?

Tasklet is a good Lindy alternative for a team that wants unlimited members and a set of business agents it builds and shares, such as an onboarding agent or a reporting agent.

Agents start private and can be shared with organization members, with "can use" and "can manage" roles. They run on schedules, webhooks, and incoming email, and use a browser on paid plans.

Pricing is per organization: $25 a month for 10,000 credits, $100 for 40,000, with no charge per member.

Is Adapt a good Lindy alternative?

Adapt is a good Lindy alternative for a technical team that wants a configurable company agent and a lower per-user price, with usage billed separately.

Adapt connects to CRM, finance, warehouse, support, HR, and developer tools, keeps a company brain of knowledge, skills, and memory, and governs actions with scopes, approvals, budgets, and audit records.

Managed Adapt is $14 per user per month plus compute, storage, memory, and models; ten users start at $140 a month.

What happens to the Lindy bill when the team grows?

Lindy's bill rises by $49.99 for every new active user. Maito's subscription stays at $149 whether five people use it or fifty.

5 people10 people25 peopleWhat else you pay
Lindy$249.95$499.90$1,249.75Credit top-ups at $10 per 1,000
Maito$149$149$149Your AI provider's usage
Viktor$100$100$100Credit top-ups
Adapt$70$140$350Compute, storage, memory, and models

These are list prices for the plans named, not quotes. Lindy's seats bring pooled credits, Viktor's subscription includes model credits, and Maito's provider bills model usage directly, so compare them on the same real workload.

So should you choose Maito or Lindy?

Choose Maito if you want everyone in the company to use one AI teammate without a seat each, with product and code work done in the same thread. Choose Lindy if a personal meeting and inbox assistant for every regular user is the main job.

Choose Maito if…

  • Many people ask occasionally, and seats add up
  • Customer conversations often turn into product fixes
  • You want to choose the AI provider and see its bill
  • Your team also works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Codex

Choose Lindy if…

  • Every user wants a personal inbox and meeting assistant
  • Meeting recording is a must-have
  • Your team is small and uses it all day

Count how many people would ask an AI teammate for something at least once a month, not only the daily users. That number usually decides between a price per person and a price per workspace.
