How do you compare vendors?
To compare vendors, tell Maito what you are buying and your needs, such as headcount and countries. It researches providers on the web, collects list prices, features and contract terms, calculates the cost for your size, and attaches a spreadsheet with a recommendation and the trade-offs.
How it's done today
Someone builds the comparison by hand.
What Maito does
- Research vendors
- Compare price, features and terms
- Rank against your needs
Example
@Maito compare payroll providers for 40 people across the UK and US. We have 31 in the US and 9 in the UK.
I compared 5 providers that run payroll in both countries. Attached: payroll-comparison.xlsx. Cost for 40 people, per month (list prices) • Crewbook about $1,150 • Paystream about $1,320 • Globalroll about $1,480 • Payloop about $1,600 • Ledgerly in the US with a separate UK provider about $1,050 plus UK costs My pick for you is Crewbook: one system for both countries, and UK pay runs are included at your size. Catch: 3 of the 5 only quote UK payroll through a local partner, so the price is not all in one invoice. Prices come from each vendor's pricing page today, and sales quotes will be different. The buyer should ask for written quotes.
@Maito draft the quote request email to Crewbook and Paystream.
Draft is ready for your review. It asks for all-in pricing for 31 US and 9 UK employees, and for the setup fee. I won't send it until you say so.

How to set it up
- Set up
Nothing to set up. Ask in Slack or by email whenever you need it.
What it won't do
Maito can only compare what vendors publish. Negotiated prices, security reviews and references still need your team.
Questions
From public vendor pages. Prices are list prices, so confirm them with the vendor.
Yes. Share your must-haves and Maito scores every vendor against them.
Only if you ask, and it sends nothing until you approve.
