Maintenance keeps the lights on. It also eats the week.
Retainers are what make an agency profitable. They’re also a dozen codebases, each with its own quirks, and small fixes that pull developers off new projects.

From a client’s email to a fixed bug, in one thread.
Follow one client’s bug from their email to the reply.
01
Forward the client’s email
Or mention Maito in the client’s Slack channel, or ask from Cursor. It knows which client and which repository.
02
It finds the cause in the right codebase
It reads that client’s code and history, and asks when something isn’t clear.
03
You review a pull request
It follows the client’s rules, like Tuesday-only deploys, and runs their checks.
04
The client hears back fast
It drafts the reply. Nothing goes to the client until you approve it.

Every client’s quirks, remembered.
Deploy days, brand rules, where the form emails go. Your team explains it once in the client’s channel, and whoever picks up the work next already knows.
- Deploys go out on Tuesdays only.Dana in #client-bloom, May 4
- Never change the brand green, #2F6B4F.Brand guide PDF
- Contact form mail goes to hello@bloom.example.Priya in #client-bloom, June 18
- Staging login is BLOOM_STAGING in Vault.Saved by Priya
Whoever picks up Bloom next starts with all of this.
Care checks, small changes, and estimates too.
Fixing bugs is one part of a retainer. Hand it the rest of the month as well.
- Runs the monthly care check
- A browser test and a short report for each client every month, as a Loop.
- Handles small changes
- “Change the opening hours on the site” goes from the client’s email to a pull request.
- Estimates from the code
- “Can we add online booking?” answered with what it touches, before you quote.
- Writes client reports
- What changed this month and what’s next, from merged work and tickets.
- Reviews security before renewal
- A security review of the client’s code, with findings rechecked before they’re reported.
- Writes handover notes
- When someone leaves a project, the next person gets how it works and why.
Your whole team can pick up any client.
- Anyone can pick up a client
- A new developer asks Maito how a client’s project works instead of the person who built it.
- Account managers answer clients
- “Is this a quick change?” gets answered from the code, without a developer.
- Developers get pull requests
- Client bugs arrive with a cause and a fix, not a forwarded email chain.
- Clients hear back sooner
- Small fixes go out in hours, so the retainer feels worth it.
Each client stays separate.
Client work doesn’t mix. Every client gets a workspace with their own knowledge, repositories, and connections.
- One workspace per client
- Each client gets their own knowledge, repositories, and connections.
- Only the repositories you choose
- Maito works in the repositories you connect to that workspace and nowhere else.
- Each repository keeps its secrets
- Environment variables are encrypted and only that repository’s tasks see them.
- Clients can’t give it orders
- A client’s email is evidence for the work. Replies go out only after your approval.

Frequently asked questions.
Yes. Give each client their own workspace, and their knowledge, repositories, and connections stay apart. Switch between them from the workspace menu.
Not as a teammate. Forward their email or paste their message into the client’s thread. Maito treats it as information, and replies go out only after you approve them.
Yes, if the project runs from its repository. Each task installs the dependencies and runs setup in a fresh cloud machine. Connect GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
That’s up to you. Every task keeps its thread, with what was asked, what changed, and when, so it’s easy to show the client what was done.
$149 per workspace per month, with $20 in cloud credits each, for as many people as you like. With one workspace per client, each client’s workspace is billed separately. Your AI provider bills model usage separately.
