Devin pricing

Devin pricing moved from ACUs to monthly quotas. What does Devin cost a team now? Is it free? And who needs a seat?

What is Devin pricing in October 2026?

As of October 2026, Devin pricing starts at $0 on the Free plan, then $20 a month on Pro, $200 a month on Max, and $40 per full seat on Teams, with an $80 monthly minimum. Enterprise is priced by contract and still billed in ACUs.

Cognition replaced the old Core and Team plans in April 2026. The old Team plan started at $500 a month; Teams now starts at $80. Paid plans come with a daily and weekly usage quota, and work past the quota is paid in dollars from prepaid credits.

Pro and Max cover one person each. Teams is the only self-serve plan for a group, and it holds up to 200 members.

What do the Devin AI pricing plans include?

As of October 2026, every paid Devin plan includes a quota that refreshes daily and weekly, and the plans differ mainly in how big that quota is and how many people share the bill.

Teams adds centralized billing, an admin dashboard, and priority support. Enterprise adds SAML or OIDC single sign-on, a dedicated deployment option, and deployment in your own virtual private cloud.

Devin doesn't publish the size of any quota in numbers. Max is described only as significantly larger than Pro, and the daily allowance as a bit more than a seventh of the weekly one.

What is a Devin ACU, and what makes a Devin bill grow?

An ACU, or Agent Compute Unit, is how Devin measured agent effort before April 2026. Self-serve plans now count tokens against a quota and charge extra usage in dollars at the model's API list price, and only Enterprise still pays per ACU.

For cloud sessions, an ACU blends model tokens with virtual machines, compute, and other infrastructure. On-demand credits carry the same dollar value the old ACUs had, and purchased credits never expire.

Five things push a Devin bill up:

  • The model. Each request costs what its tokens cost on the chosen model, and frontier models drain the quota fastest.
  • Context size. A request carrying a large codebase uses many more tokens than one with a few files.
  • Speed settings. Priority and faster configurations cost more per request.
  • Flex seats. Everything a flex seat does comes out of the team's shared credit pool, since flex seats have no quota of their own.
  • Paid extras. Devin Review, Deep Mode in Ask Devin, and the higher-quality DeepWiki modes are usage-based since April 2026.

When the shared pool runs dry, automations stop running and Devin Review falls back to a plain diff viewer until someone tops up. Admins can turn on auto-reload and set a default spending limit per session.

What would a team of ten pay for Devin or Maito in a month?

As of October 2026, a ten-person team with four developers on full Devin seats pays $160 a month, plus any flex and overflow usage from the shared credit pool. The same team pays $149 a month for Maito, plus model usage on its own AI provider account.

The team here has four engineers who code every day and six people in support, product, and sales who ask for a fix or an answer a few times a month.

Maito

$149 per month + AI provider usage

  • One workspace price covers all ten people, and the eleventh
  • $20 in included credits for coding sandboxes and web search
  • Model usage goes on the AI provider account you connect

Devin Teams

$160 per month + shared credits

  • 4 × $40 full seats, each with a Pro-size quota and Devin Desktop
  • Six flex seats with no seat fee
  • Flex work, overflow, and automations draw on prepaid credits

The two numbers measure different things. Devin's full seats include model usage up to the quota, while Maito's $149 covers the agent and everyone in the company, and your provider bills the models. A month with heavy work grows both bills: Devin's through the credit pool, Maito's through the provider. Hiring a fifth engineer adds $40 to Devin and nothing to Maito.

Is Devin AI free, and is there a Devin AI free trial?

Yes, Devin has a free plan for one person with a light quota and a limited choice of models, but no free trial of Pro, Max, or Teams. When the Free quota runs out, work waits for the next daily or weekly reset.

The Free plan includes Devin Review and DeepWiki and unlimited inline edits and Tab completions in Devin's editor. Cloud agents start on Pro. In April 2026, Cognition offered a two-week free trial of Devin Review; other plans had no trial terms.

Reviewing pull requests on public GitHub repositories at devinreview.com is free and uses no credits.

Who needs a Devin seat?

Everyone who uses Devin on Teams holds a seat: a full seat at $40 a month for people who work in Devin daily, or a free flex seat for occasional users that bills all their work to the shared credit pool.

A full seat brings its own daily and weekly quota and access to Devin Desktop. A flex seat has neither, and both kinds count toward the 200-member cap. Admins pick the seat type when they invite someone and can change it later.

To ask Devin from Slack, each person links their Slack profile to a Devin account with the same email address, once. A support lead who wants to report a bug to Devin in a channel needs a Devin account and a seat first.

How does Maito's price compare with Devin pricing, and why is it per workspace?

Maito costs $149 a month per workspace with unlimited people, $20 of included cloud credits, and model usage billed by your own AI provider. It's priced per workspace because Maito is an AI employee the whole company asks, and most of those people ask only now and then.

Devin is priced around developers, which fits a tool developers drive all day. Maito is built for a different job: a coding agent that support, product, sales, and operations ask in Slack, by email at the workspace's own address, or from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Grok, and Muse. Nobody needs a seat or a linked account to ask in an invited channel.

The same agent takes a task to a reproduced bug, a fix with tests, QA, and a pull request your engineers review. It also handles research, reports, and follow-ups in your connected tools, and runs recurring jobs as Loops. Your AI provider sets the model rates, so you see exactly what each month of work cost.

Maito has no free plan or trial. Teams that want it set up for them can add a one-time $2,999 setup service.

Want it done for you?

We connect Slack, your AI provider, repositories, and tools. Then we go through your team’s recurring work with you, turn the processes Maito should own into skills and Loops, and set up the reports and alerts your channels need. Your team starts with an AI employee that’s already doing useful work.

$2,999 one time, on top of your $149 monthly workspace.

Devin pricing: frequently asked questions

How much does Devin cost per ACU?

Cognition doesn't publish an ACU price. Enterprise customers pay per ACU at the rate in their order form, and self-serve plans stopped using ACUs in April 2026; their on-demand credits carry the same dollar value the old ACUs had.

Is Devin AI better than ChatGPT?

For changing code, Devin is the more specialized tool: it works in your repositories, runs cloud sessions on Pro and above, and opens pull requests. ChatGPT is a general assistant for writing, research, and questions across all kinds of work.

What happens when a Devin team runs out of credits?

Automations stop running and Devin Review switches to its plain diff viewer until an admin buys more credits. Purchased credits roll over and don't expire.

Why does Devin Teams have an $80 minimum?

Every Teams subscription costs at least $80 a month. With fewer than two full seats, the gap is added as prepaid credits the whole team can spend; with two or more, the seats meet the minimum.

Is Maito cheaper than Devin?

For one or two developers, Devin Teams at $80 a month costs less than Maito's $149. Maito's price stays the same as more people ask, while Devin adds $40 for each full seat, and Maito's model usage is billed by your AI provider.
