Dust pricing

Dust charges for AI agents by the seat, with a monthly credit budget for each person. What does Dust pricing add up to for a team? And which seat does everyone need?

Dmitry Dubovetzky

How much does Dust cost?

As of October 2026, Dust pricing is $30 a month for each Pro seat, or $24 a month on yearly billing, with 8,000 credits per seat each month. A Max seat costs $150, or $120 yearly, with 40,000 credits. A Free seat costs nothing and comes with 500 credits for life. Enterprise is priced by sales.

This page is about Dust at dust.tt, the platform where teams build and run AI agents on company data, not the messaging app or the crypto project that share the name. US visitors see the prices in dollars, before tax.

The seat price is only half of the bill. Each seat comes with a credit budget, and every message an agent answers spends from it. A team pays for the people who use Dust, then for how hard they use it.

What are Dust's plans?

As of October 2026, Dust has two plans: Business, for teams of up to 100 people, where each person gets a Free, Pro, or Max seat, and Enterprise, with pooled credits and custom pricing.

Business includes more than 20 models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, and DeepSeek, custom agents, schedules and triggers, SSO with Okta, Entra ID, or JumpCloud, and US or EU data hosting. It caps a workspace at three data connectors, five remote MCP servers, and five Spaces. Enterprise lifts those caps and adds SCIM, audit logs, custom data retention, single-tenant hosting, an SLA, and a dedicated success manager.

Calls to Dust's API are billed separately at $0.01 per credit on Business.

How do Dust credits work, and what makes the bill grow?

A Dust message spends token credits for the model's work plus a fixed charge for each tool the agent uses: one credit for a basic tool such as web search, three for an advanced one such as data retrieval or file generation. Bigger models, longer context, and many tool calls cost more.

Dust shows the credit cost under every answer, broken down by tool, model, and agent. A task started in the web app or the Chrome extension stops at 600 credits and asks whether to keep going. Monthly credits don't carry over.

When a Pro or Max member uses up their own credits, they can draw on a workspace pool that admins fill with top-up packages of at least 100 credits, valid for a year. Admins can set a spending limit for each person. Business has no pay-as-you-go option, so once the pool and the seat are both empty, that member is blocked until someone buys more.

A Dust bill grows in three ways:

  • More people using Dust, each on a paid seat
  • Heavy users moving from Pro to Max, five times the price
  • Top-up packages when busy months drain the pool

Who counts as a Dust seat, and what does each seat include?

Every Dust member who sends messages needs a seat, and an admin picks Free, Pro, or Max for each person. Credits belong to the person, not the team, so one heavy user can't borrow from a quiet colleague's allowance.

A member without a seat can see the workspace but can't message agents. Seat type is separate from role, so an admin can sit on a Free seat. People who join mid-cycle get their full monthly credits right away, and the bill charges only the remaining days.

Moving up is instant, but moving down isn't. Max drops to Pro only at the next billing period, a paid seat can never go back to Free, and someone who has had a Free seat can't get another one. Monthly seats can be cancelled at any time; yearly seats stay paid and reassignable until the term ends.

What would a team of 10 pay for a month of Dust?

As of October 2026, ten people on Dust Pro seats cost $300 a month on monthly billing, or $240 a month billed yearly, with 8,000 credits each. Maito covers those ten, and anyone else in the company, for $149 a month, with model usage billed to your own AI provider account.

Maito

$149 per month + provider usage

  • The whole company asks, at no extra cost per person
  • $20 in cloud credits each month for coding sandboxes and web search
  • Your AI provider bills model usage on your own account

Dust Pro

$300 per month for ten seats

  • 10 × $30, or $240 a month with a yearly commitment
  • 8,000 credits per person, reset every billing cycle
  • Two Max seats for heavy users raise it to $540

A team that gives its two analysts Max seats and everyone else Pro pays $540 a month on monthly billing, before top-ups. Both products' figures are monthly and before tax.

Is there a free Dust plan or trial?

Yes. As of October 2026, Dust offers a Free seat with 500 credits that never renew, with no time limit. There's no separate timed trial on the pricing page.

The Free seat suits someone who asks an agent now and then. Once the 500 credits are gone, the person asks an admin for an upgrade; Free seats can't draw from the workspace pool.

Maito has no free plan or trial. It costs $149 per workspace per month.

How does Maito's price compare to Dust pricing?

Maito charges $149 a month for the workspace with unlimited people, while Dust charges for each seat, from $30 a month for Pro. Dust's credits include model usage; with Maito, your AI provider bills the models directly.

Maito is an AI employee the whole company works with, rather than a platform for building agents. Anyone can ask it in Slack, by email, or from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Grok, and Muse, and nobody needs a seat. Business work, research, and code changes with a tested pull request all run through the same one. If you'd rather not wire up the tools yourself, an optional $2,999 assisted setup does it.

On monthly billing, five Dust Pro seats cost $150, a dollar over Maito's workspace price. On yearly billing, the line sits at seven seats, which cost $168. Past that, each Dust seat adds to the gap, while Maito's cost moves only with the model usage your team runs up.

Dust's bundled credits are easier to budget if you'd rather not hold an AI provider account, and Dust brings SOC 2 Type II and EU hosting that Maito doesn't package. For the feature-by-feature view, read Maito vs Dust. For other options, read Dust alternatives.

How much does an AI license cost?

Do Dust credits roll over to the next month?

No. Pro and Max credits reset at the start of each billing period. Top-up credits bought for the workspace pool last a year.

The answer in progress finishes. After that, Pro and Max members draw on the workspace pool if an admin has filled it, and Free members are asked to request an upgrade. On Business, a member with no credits left anywhere is blocked.

Which Dust plan includes SSO and audit logs?

SSO and US or EU data residency come with Business. SCIM, audit logs, custom retention, and single-tenant hosting need Enterprise.
