How do you get customers to sign off finished work?
To get customers to sign off finished work, set up a trigger on completed jobs. Maito reads the job record and quote, drafts a summary with work done and exceptions, posts it for your approval, then sends it for e-signature through Docusign.
How it's done today
Sign-offs are paper or informal texts that are hard to find later.
What Maito does
- Read the completed scope and any exceptions
- Draft a plain-language completion summary
- Prepare the signature request for approval
- Route a dispute to the office
Example
Loop run: Job 2326 marked complete
Job 2326 at Vandelay Imports was marked complete by Marcus at 3:05 PM. Sign-off draft ready for your approval. Work done: • Replaced 2 thermostats (Model T-9) • Rebalanced zone 3 dampers • Cleaned supply vents on floor 2 Exception noted: the zone 4 damper actuator is failing. Not part of this quote, so it's listed as recommended follow-up, estimate $320. Catch: the original quote on Oct 8 included 3 thermostats. Only 2 were installed. The draft states this plainly and shows the $85 credit, so the signature isn't for work not done. Source: the job record and the Oct 8 quote in the field service software.
@Maito good catch. Approve it and send the e-signature request to Dana at Vandelay.
Request sent for signature to Dana at Vandelay. If she disputes any line, I'll bring it to you right away.

How to set it up
- Ask your agent
“When a technician marks a job complete, draft a completion summary with the work done and any exceptions, and post it in #office for me to approve before it goes to the customer for e-signature.”
- Connect field service software
- Jobber
- Connect e-signature
- Docusign

What it won't do
It can't sign for a customer or make them sign. It doesn't settle disputes about the work.
Questions
No. You approve the draft first.
It says so plainly in the draft, with any credit, so the signature isn't for work not done.
Jobber and Docusign.
