How do you find how many lessons a family has left?
To find how many lessons a family has left, mention Maito in Slack with the family name. It checks the package purchased, payments in billing, and lessons taught or booked, and replies with the balance and the numbers behind it, plus any lesson that is unclear.
How it's done today
Remaining prepaid sessions live in a notebook or spreadsheet and don't always match what parents remember.
What Maito does
- Find the family's prepaid package
- List each lesson used, cancelled or credited
- Apply the credit policy
- Show the balance and any open adjustments
Example
@Maito Mrs. Okafor says she has 4 lessons left. What do we show?
Our records show 2 left, not 4. 10-lesson package bought Sep 8 for $650 ($65 each). • 7 taught: Sep 15, 22, 29, Oct 6, 13, 20, 27 • 1 late cancellation, Oct 1, counted as used under the 24-hour rule (she texted at 4:40 PM for a 5:00 PM lesson) • 2 remaining Open • Oct 13 lesson: Mr. Ortiz was out sick and the lesson was held by a substitute with a different subject. Mrs. Okafor asked for it to be credited on Oct 14. No decision is recorded. Catch: if you credit Oct 13, the balance becomes 3. Neither 2 nor 4 matches her count, and she may be counting the Oct 1 late cancel as free. From the booking records and the payment on Sep 8. Package expires Dec 31. Want a short, polite reply with the ledger for her?
@Maito yes, and I'll credit Oct 13 myself. Say the balance is 3 once I do.
Draft is in your inbox with the 7 dates, the Oct 1 late cancel and a line saying the balance will be 3 once the Oct 13 credit is applied. I haven't changed the ledger or sent anything.

What it won't do
It's only as accurate as the package and lesson records. It can't tell if a payment is missing from the books.
