How do you answer "can we do this?" from approved guidance?

To answer "can we do this?" from approved guidance, put your legal policies where Maito can learn them and let teams ask in Slack. Maito answers from what you approved, names the section it used, attaches a template when one applies, and sends anything unclear to a lawyer.

How it's done today

Legal answers the same questions repeatedly.

What Maito does

  1. Read the question
  2. Answer from approved policies
  3. Send new or risky questions to legal

@Maito can we put the Globex and Initech logos on the new homepage?

Maito APP 2:16 PM

Not yet. Per our approved legal guidance, a customer logo needs written permission, and our standard contract (section 11) doesn't grant it. • Permission has to come from someone who can sign for the customer. A marketing contact saying yes isn't enough. • Permission for a case study doesn't cover a logo wall. Ask for each use. • It lasts 12 months, then we ask again. Attached: logo-permission-request.docx, the template we use. Send it to each customer, then reply here with their answer.

@Maito what about quoting a Globex customer in a case study?

Maito APP 2:21 PM

That isn't in our guidance, so I won't guess. I've sent your question to Claire with the context. She'll answer in this thread.

How to set it up

When you ask Answer "can we do this?" from approved guidance
Set up

Nothing to set up. Ask in Slack or by email whenever you need it.

What it won't do

It can only answer from guidance you have given it, and it won't treat a general answer as legal advice. Questions that guidance doesn't settle go to a lawyer.
