How do you answer common parent questions?
To answer common parent questions, set Maito up on the school's shared email address. When a parent writes, it replies to questions about dates, policies and forms using your calendar and handbook, and says where the answer came from. Anything about a specific child goes to a staff member to handle.
How it's done today
The office phone rings with the same questions.
What Maito does
- Read the question
- Answer from the handbook and calendar
- Pass anything about a child to staff
Example
Loop run: New email at info@northstar.example
Two parent emails this morning. Answered To Hannah: "Term two starts Monday, Nov 2. Winter uniform is required from Nov 1, and the list is attached." Source: school calendar and handbook, section 4. Passed to staff To Mr. Okafor: his email asks about his son's lunch allergy plan and a missed form. I haven't replied with anything about the child. I told him the office will contact him today. Catch: Hannah's email also asked about the late bus. The handbook says the route changes Nov 2 but gives no new times, so I said the office will confirm. Attached: uniform-list.pdf. Lucia, can you take Mr. Okafor?
@Maito I'll call him. Add the new late bus times to the handbook notes when you have them.
Will do. I'll update when the office sends the times.

How to set it up
- Ask your agent
“When an email arrives at info@northstar.example, answer questions about dates, policies and forms from the handbook and calendar. If it's about a specific child, pass it to the office and don't answer it.”

What it won't do
It doesn't handle questions about individual students, discipline or health. Those go to staff.
Questions
From your school calendar, handbook and other files you share with it. It names the source in its summary to staff.
Maito doesn't answer it. It tells the parent the office will be in touch and asks a named staff member to take it.
It says so, tells the parent the office will confirm, and flags the gap to staff so the handbook can be updated.
