How do you write a weekly parent newsletter?
To write a weekly parent newsletter, give Maito access to the school calendar and your announcements folder. Each week it drafts the newsletter, adds a translated version if you ask, and flags dates that don't match. You get a Word file to review. Nothing goes to families until you approve.
How it's done today
Staff write the same messages each term.
What Maito does
- Read the calendar and announcements
- Draft messages
- Translate if needed
Example
Loop run: Thursday 2:00 PM · Weekly parent newsletter
Draft: Northstar Elementary newsletter, Oct 26 week 1. Picture day Tuesday Oct 27, forms due Monday. 2. Fall book fair Wed to Fri, library, open 8 to 4. 3. Early dismissal Friday Oct 30 at 12:15 for staff training. 4. Parent-teacher conferences Nov 5 and 6. Sign-ups open Monday. 5. Lost and found cleared Nov 1. Catch: the calendar says conferences are Nov 5 and 6, but last week's announcement said Nov 4 and 5. I used the calendar. Spanish version included. Sources: school calendar, announcements folder. Attached: newsletter-oct26-en.docx, newsletter-oct26-es.docx. Nothing is sent until you approve.
@Maito Calendar is right. Approved once you add the book fair hours to the Spanish version too.
Done, Spanish version has the hours. Ready for you to send.

What it won't do
It can only report what is in the calendar and your files. Anything that lives in someone's head, such as a last-minute change, needs to be told to it.
Questions
No. Maito attaches a draft and waits for approval. Your office sends it.
Maito uses the calendar and tells you about the conflict, so you can confirm which date is right.
Yes. Ask for a second language and it attaches a separate file for each version.
