How do you handle access requests?

To handle access requests, let people ask Maito in Slack. It collects the tool, level, end date and reason, finds the owner of the resource, and asks them to approve. It logs a ticket in your service desk and hands IT the approved request to apply. Restricted areas are flagged for the owner.

How it's done today

Access is granted from a DM with no record.

What Maito does

  1. Read the request
  2. Ask the right approver
  3. Create the ticket for IT
  4. Log it

Rosa 11:00 AM

@Maito I need read access to Finance/Budget 2027 for the Q4 hiring plan, until Dec 31.

Maito APP 11:01 AM

Logged as ITS-2184 and sent to Omar, who owns that folder, for approval. • Access: read only • Until: Dec 31, 2026 • Reason: Q4 hiring plan Catch: Budget 2027 contains a Salaries subfolder that Omar has marked restricted. I asked him whether to leave it out. Nobody gets access until he answers, and Ben applies it, not me.

Maito APP 11:24 AM

Omar approved read-only access, excluding Salaries, until Dec 31. I've passed that to Ben on ITS-2184 for him to apply. I'll tell you here when it's done.

How to set it up

When you ask Handle access requests
Set up

Nothing to set up. Ask in Slack or by email whenever you need it.

Connect ticketing
  • Jira Service Management
  • ServiceNow
  • Freshdesk

Not connected yet? Your agent sends you a link to sign in.

What it won't do

It can't grant, change or remove access, and it only knows an owner if your team has told it who that is. Nothing is approved without the person who owns it.
