How do you plan an offboarding?

To plan an offboarding, tell Maito who is leaving and the last day in Slack. It creates the tasks in your tracker for IT, the manager, finance and the leaver, with due dates and owners, flags open work that needs reassigning, and can email the leaver a handover request.

How it's done today

Access stays open months after someone leaves.

What Maito does

  1. Read the leaver's role and last day
  2. Create tasks for IT, manager and finance
  3. Track until all are done

Example

people-ops
Rosa 1:05 PM

@Maito Alex leaves this Friday, Oct 23. Set up offboarding.

Maito APP 1:07 PM

Created 11 tasks in Linear, due dates set. • Ben: disable accounts at 5 PM Friday, collect laptop and badge, forward email for 30 days • Leo (manager): reassign Alex's 14 open tickets by Wed Oct 21, handover meeting Thursday • Omar: final expenses and last payroll check • Alex: handover doc, sent to him from maito@northstar.example Catch: Alex is the only owner of the Payments runbook and the on-call rotation for next week. Both are in Leo's list so they aren't lost. I'll remind owners on Wednesday and Friday morning and post the status here. You mark the offboarding complete once every task is checked.

Rosa 1:12 PM

@Maito Add Priya for the customer intro emails.

Maito APP 1:13 PM

Added a task for Priya: intro emails to Alex's 6 accounts, due Thursday.
