How do you write a creative brief?
To write a creative brief, tell Maito the rough idea in Slack or by email. It pulls in what your team has told it about brand and past work, asks about anything missing, and writes a brief with goal, audience, message, sizes and due date. You get a one-page brief a designer or agency can start from.
How it's done today
Briefs are a Slack message and a lot of back-and-forth.
What Maito does
- Ask the questions a good brief needs
- Pull brand rules and past examples
- Write the brief
Example
@Maito write a brief for the new homepage hero. Designer is Lena at Pixel & Co. Idea: show Maito answering in Slack, calm, no stock photos.
Brief: homepage hero • Goal: more visitors start setup. Hero click-through is 3.1% today. Target 4.5% by Dec 15. • Audience: ops and team leads at 20 to 200 person companies. • Message: 'Your team's AI teammate, in Slack and email.' One proof point: setup in minutes. • Visual: a real Slack thread, light and dark. No stock photos. • Sizes: 1440x900, 390x844, 1200x630 for social. • Brand: guide section 3. Use the August palette, not the blue in the June hero. • Due: first round Oct 30, final Nov 6. Two questions before it goes to Lena: who signs off? The guide says Kate for homepage changes. And is $2,000 right for round one? The last hero cost $1,800.
@Maito Kate signs off and the budget stays $2,000. Send the final to me first.
Attached: homepage-hero-brief.pdf, with Kate as approver and the budget in. It's yours to send. I haven't contacted Pixel & Co.

How to set it up
- Set up
Nothing to set up. Ask in Slack or by email whenever you need it.
What it won't do
It can't invent facts such as target numbers or budget. If you don't give them, the brief lists them as open items.
Questions
It knows what your team has shared with it, such as a brand guide or palette notes. If you haven't shared one, it asks instead of guessing.
Maito asks short questions about the goal, audience and deadline in the thread, waits for your answers and then writes the brief.
It can email a draft from the workspace address when you ask. Nothing goes to an outside agency without your approval.
