How do you check skills and equipment before dispatch?
To check skills and equipment before dispatch, set up a trigger on new assignments. Maito compares the technician's certifications and the equipment bookings with the job's requirements, lists what is missing or expired, and suggests qualified people in Slack so dispatch can fix it.
How it's done today
A crew arrives without the qualification or equipment the job needs.
What Maito does
- Read the job template's requirements
- Check the technician's listed skills and equipment
- Flag any gap before the assignment is final
- Suggest qualified alternatives
Example
Loop run: New assignment · Furnace install, Initech
Assignment check for job 2291, furnace install at Initech, Thu Oct 22 at 8 AM, assigned to Dee. Missing: • Gas fitter certification. The register shows Dee's lapsed on Sep 30 • 80-ton lift is booked on another job from 7 to 11 OK: • Refrigerant card, valid through 2028 • Van 3 stocked for installs Qualified and free that morning: Marcus (gas fitter, expires 2027). The lift is free after 11, or the smaller lift from the register fits this unit. Source: the skills register and equipment bookings. I haven't changed the assignment.
@Maito switch to Marcus and use the small lift.
Prepared the change to Marcus with the small lift. It's not applied until you approve it in the system. I'll also remind Dee's manager about the lapsed certification.

How to set it up
- Ask your agent
“Whenever a job is assigned in the field service software, check the technician's skills and the equipment register against the job's requirements. Tell me in #dispatch if anything is missing.”
- Connect field service software
- Jobber
- Connect spreadsheet
- Airtable
- Microsoft 365

What it won't do
It trusts the register. If a certification isn't recorded, it can't know it exists.
Questions
No. It reports and suggests, and dispatch decides.
From Jobber and a skills or equipment register in Airtable or Microsoft 365.
Yes, when the register records expiry dates.
