How do you decide if a job needs a site visit?
To decide if a job needs a site visit, ask Maito in Slack with the customer's request. It reads the form and photos, shows what is known and missing, and says which parts can be estimated remotely and which depend on seeing the site. You decide, and it holds a calendar slot.
How it's done today
The estimator drives out before knowing whether the job is ready or needs a visit.
What Maito does
- Read the form, photos and notes
- Compare against the readiness questions
- Say what a remote estimate can and can't cover
- Offer visit slots from the calendar
Example
@Maito Dana Whitfield wants a site visit for a bathroom remodel at 9 Cedar Ave. Do we need to go?
Brief from her form and 6 photos. • Scope: replace the tub with a walk-in shower, new vanity, tile floor, about 5 x 8 ft • Ready: owns the house, plumbing stays in place, start is flexible, budget $14,000 to $18,000 • Missing: photo of the shower valve The vanity and tile can be estimated remotely. Catch: she wrote "soft spot near the drain". The shower conversion depends on what's under the tub, which points to a visit. Your call. Your calendar is open Thursday Oct 22 at 10:00 AM or Friday 1:00 PM.
@Maito Visit, Thursday. Ask her to clear the space under the vanity.
Tentative hold added for Thursday Oct 22, 10:00 AM. Message to Dana drafted for your OK, including the clear-the-vanity request.

What it won't do
Photos and forms don't show everything. It points to signs a visit is needed but can't diagnose hidden problems.
Questions
The customer's form, photos and your calendar. It gives you a brief and a suggestion, and you decide.
It adds a tentative hold and drafts a message to the customer. Both wait for your approval.
Yes. It lists what's missing, such as a photo of a valve, and drafts the request to the customer.
