How do you create an SOP from a recorded walkthrough?
To create an SOP from a recorded walkthrough, send Maito the call recording or notes in Slack. It reads the transcript, drafts the steps with checks and exceptions, and asks the owner about anything unclear. You get a draft to test and approve before it becomes the procedure.
How it's done today
The owner explains the same steps to each new hire, one at a time.
What Maito does
- Read the transcript of the walkthrough
- Draft numbered steps, checks and exceptions
- List questions for the owner
- Mark the draft until tested and approved
Example
Loop run: None
@Maito turn the transcript of me walking Tyler through a drain clearing into a procedure.
Draft SOP: Drain-clearing visit, v0.1. Attached: drain-clearing-sop.docx. Steps 1 to 9, from the call: confirm the address and access by text, photograph the fixture, run the camera only if the first snake fails, and quote before extra work. The main checks are a photo before and after, and a signed work order. Catch: at 14:20 you said use the rear cleanout if the vanity drain won't take the snake. You never said which tool or size. I left that blank rather than guess. Three questions: the call-out fee, when to stop and book a camera visit, and who signs for jobs over $400. This is a draft until someone tests it and you approve.
@Maito answers: $95, after 30 minutes, me. Tyler will test it Thursday.
Added all three and marked it as testing, Thursday Oct 22. After Tyler's run I'll update the steps from his notes, and you can approve and date it.

Questions
Notes and transcripts from Granola, Fireflies, Fathom, Otter.ai, Read AI or Zoom, through MCP.
Into Notion, Confluence or Box once you approve it.
No. It's a draft. The owner should run the steps once and approve it before it replaces anything.
