How do you plan a content calendar?
To plan a content calendar, tell Maito your launch dates, events and themes. It reads the plans in your files and your team calendar, lays out a month of posts with owners and due dates, flags clashes such as two sends in one day, and returns the calendar as a spreadsheet.
How it's done today
Calendar gets built in a hurry at the start of each month.
What Maito does
- Read the launch plan and events
- Spread topics across channels and weeks
- Draft titles and owners
Example
@Maito plan November content around the Workflows 2.0 launch on Nov 10. Launch plan is in Drive. The Chicago meetup is Nov 5 and Leo's webinar is Nov 18.
14 pieces across Nov 2-27, with owners and due dates, in nov-content-calendar.xlsx. • Week of Nov 2: 2 meetup posts for the Nov 5 Chicago event, plus a teaser blog 'What's changing in Workflows' (Priya, due Oct 30). • Week of Nov 9: Launch Nov 10. Announcement post, customer email and 4 social posts. • Week of Nov 16: Webinar invite, recap post Nov 20. • Week of Nov 23: Light. Nothing scheduled Nov 25-27 for Thanksgiving. Catch: the launch plan sends the customer email on Nov 10 and the webinar invite on Nov 11, so the same list gets two sends in 24 hours. I moved the invite to Nov 12. From the launch plan in Drive and the team calendar. Owners are my guess from past months.
@Maito good. Flag anything where the owner is out that week.
One: Sam is out Nov 16-20 and owns the webinar recap. I assigned it to Priya instead.

What it won't do
The plan reflects what you tell it. A launch date that changes later means asking Maito to re-plan.

From who owned similar work before. Those are suggestions, so confirm them with the team.
No. It plans and returns a spreadsheet. Publishing stays with your team.
