Price every change before work starts
A customer's change request becomes a priced change order, so extra work never starts on a text message.

How do you handle a construction change order?
To handle a construction change order, tell Maito in Slack what the customer asked for and attach photos. It drafts the change request, lists the trades affected, checks the contract's approval rules, asks the estimator for a price, notes a hold on the affected tasks, and sends the signature request through Docusign after you approve.
How it's done today
Extra work starts from messages while scope and price are still unsettled.
What Maito does
- Capture the instruction and photos
- Draft the change description
- Pass to the estimator for pricing
- Send for signature once priced and approved

Loop run: None
@Maito Ms. Okafor just asked on site to move the pantry wall 2 ft toward the window. Photos attached. Start a change request.
Draft CR-07, Okafor kitchen remodel. Request: move the pantry wall 2 ft east, as asked by the homeowner on Oct 19 (3 photos attached). Affects: framing, drywall, one outlet circuit, paint. Price: not set. Waiting on Tasha. Schedule: not set. Catch: the electrical rough-in passed inspection last Thursday, so moving that wall means redoing part of it and likely a new inspection. Also, section 9 of the contract says changes over $500 need a signed approval before work starts, and nobody should start framing yet. From your message, the photos and the Okafor contract in the construction management software. Want me to ask Tasha for a price?
@Maito Yes, and tell the framers to hold off.
Asked Tasha for a price by end of day tomorrow. I've posted a hold note on the framing task. The signature request goes out only after you approve her number.

What it won't do
It drafts and flags only. Price, schedule impact and any legal wording stay with your team, and no signature request goes out without your approval.
Questions
No. It asks your estimator and leaves the price blank until a person supplies it.
Your construction management software, such as Procore or Buildertrend, through a skill, and Docusign for the signature request.
Maito flags it when your contract requires a signed approval and notes a hold on the framing task. It does not stop crews itself.
