How do you analyze survey data with AI?
To analyze survey data with AI, send Maito the export of survey answers or reviews. It reads every comment, groups them into themes with counts, picks a representative quote for each and compares with earlier surveys when you share them. You get a short theme list in Slack and the full breakdown in a file.
How it's done today
Someone reads a sample and guesses.
What Maito does
- Read all responses
- Group into themes
- Count and quote each theme
Example
@Maito sort these 600 NPS comments into themes. It's the September survey from SurveyMonkey.
598 usable comments, 2 were empty. 8 themes: • Onboarding is confusing: 112 (19%) • Love the mobile app: 97 • Reports are slow: 74 • Pricing is unclear: 61 • Great support: 58 • Missing integrations: 52 (Salesforce 31) • Slack answers are useful: 49 • Other: 95 Top quote for onboarding: 'I didn't know where to start after signing up.' For the app: 'The only reason I check approvals on my phone.' Catch: 80 of the 112 onboarding comments come from customers who joined after the Aug 20 setup change. In the June survey the same theme was 9%. All quotes by theme: nps-themes-sep.xlsx.
@Maito put those 80 in their own sheet and tell me their average score.
Attached: onboarding-80.xlsx. Their average score is 5.9. Everyone else averages 7.8.

What it won't do
Themes are Maito's grouping, so a person should read the top quotes before the numbers go in a deck. It can't tell who a comment is from unless the export says.
Questions
From a spreadsheet or file you share, from Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, Notion or Microsoft 365, or from SurveyMonkey when it's connected.
Hundreds in one run. It reports how many were usable and how many it skipped, such as empty answers.
Yes, when you share the earlier survey. It points out when a theme grew because of something that changed, not only that it grew.
