How do you check that equipment is free for a rental request?
To check that equipment is free for a rental request, mention Maito in Slack with the items and dates. It reads your inventory and bookings, counts what is truly available, flags items in repair or coming back late from another customer, and drafts the quote and reply for you to send.
How it's done today
The owner checks several spreadsheets and remembers what is dirty or out.
What Maito does
- Read the dates and gear in the request
- Check stock including cleaning and return buffers
- Hold the items that fit
- Draft a quote reply for approval
Example
@Maito Acme Events wants 10 round tables and 60 chairs for Sat Nov 14, pickup Friday. What's free? Draft the reply.
For Friday Nov 13 to Monday Nov 16, from the booking system: • Round tables: 10 free (we own 24) • Chairs: 48 free of 120 The 12 missing chairs come back from Globex on Fri Nov 13 evening. They need a day for cleaning, so they aren't free until Sat Nov 14 at 9 AM, after Acme's pickup. Catch: 6 tables show free but are flagged for a scratched top repair due Nov 11. I counted them only as 4 reliable, so 10 includes those 6 if the repair is late. Options: offer 48 chairs plus 12 folding chairs, or Saturday pickup. Draft reply is ready with a quote at $4.50 per chair and $12 per table, $768 plus delivery. Items are held for 24 hours.
@Maito offer Saturday morning pickup instead. Update the draft.
Updated: Saturday pickup at 9 AM, all 60 chairs, 10 tables, $768 total. I've extended the hold on the 4 repaired tables only if the repair is confirmed. Ready for you to send.

What it won't do
It can only count what your inventory records show. If an item's condition is not recorded, it cannot know about it.
Questions
Inventory from Airtable or Shopify, bookings from Calendly or Cal.com, and customer emails from Gmail or Microsoft 365.
Only when you ask. It can note a hold in the draft, but it does not confirm a booking or send a quote without your approval.
It checks return dates and cleaning or repair time, and tells you when an item is not usable until after the customer's pickup.
