How do you find expansion opportunities?
To find expansion opportunities, set Maito to run a regular Loop. It checks seat use, billing and CRM records for accounts near their plan limit or with a new team using the product, and filters out accounts that look full but aren't active. You get a list with the evidence for each.
How it's done today
Upsells happen when customers ask.
What Maito does
- Check usage against plan limits
- Find teams that started using the product
- List accounts with a reason
Example
Loop run: 1st of the month · Expansion check
9 candidates: 7 near their seat limit and 2 with a new team using the product. • Hooli: 48 of 50 seats active, +6 in 30 days • Pied Piper: 94 of 100 seats • Vandelay Imports: a new Marketing team of 11 started on Oct 3, on a plan for Sales only • Stark Logistics: new Warehouse team, 8 people Full list of 9 in the thread. Remove one: Initech looks full at 49 of 50 seats, but only 38 were active in the last 30 days. They don't need more, and you could offer them a smaller plan before renewal. From Amplitude, Stripe and HubSpot.
@Maito talking points for Vandelay? I'd like to raise it Thursday.
Three points: the Marketing team is already using it, 11 people on a plan for Sales; the Marketing rollout would take about the same setup; and adding 11 seats comes to $4,950 a year at their current price. It's your call how to raise it.

What it won't do
It sees usage and billing, not budget or intent. A good candidate still needs a conversation.
