Claude Tag vs Lindy
Claude Tag and Lindy both put a shared AI teammate in Slack channels. Which one fits your team's work? And who pays for whom?
Which is better, Claude Tag or Lindy?
Claude Tag is better for a whole channel working with one Claude on code, data, and incidents. Lindy is better for each person's inbox, calendar, and meetings.
Pick Claude Tag for
- Code changes and pull requests from a thread
- A company already paying for Claude seats
- One setup by admins instead of every person
Pick Lindy for
- Each person's email, calendar, and meetings
- Reaching the assistant by iMessage or email
- Team memory anyone can open and read as files
Claude Tag is Anthropic's Claude shared by a Slack channel, strong at code, data, and incident work, billed by usage. Lindy is a shared Slack teammate and a personal assistant for each person's inbox, calendar, and meetings, billed per active user.
Both answer when someone mentions them in a channel, both keep DMs separate from team work, and both run recurring jobs. Claude Tag treats the Slack thread as a shared working session that anyone can steer. Lindy treats each person as someone with an inbox and a calendar to manage, and adds a team layer in channels.
This guide is for a ten-person company deciding whether channel help or personal assistants matter more. Many teams find they want the second one for different people than the first. We rechecked both pricing pages, Anthropic's certifications, and Lindy's security page on October 20, 2026.
What is Claude Tag best at?
Claude Tag is best at technical and operational work that a whole channel follows together, such as fixing code, investigating an incident, or analyzing data.
A task becomes a session tied to the thread, running in a temporary cloud sandbox, and any teammate in the thread can redirect it. Pull requests and commits come from the Claude GitHub App. Routines post scheduled updates, watch channels, follow a pull request, and check monitoring, and they can stay quiet when nothing needs attention.

What is Lindy best at?
Lindy is best at communication work: sorting email, booking meetings, writing meeting notes, briefing people before calls, and following up afterward.
Each teammate links Google or Microsoft for email and calendar and a phone number for iMessage. Routines can start when a meeting ends, an email lands, or a calendar event approaches, and a dry run shows what a routine would do without sending anything.

Which one handles code, Claude Tag or Lindy?
Claude Tag. It works on your repositories in a sandbox tied to the Slack thread and opens commits and pull requests as the Claude GitHub App. Lindy builds new internal tools and HTML pages from a prompt instead of changing your product's code.
An engineer and a support lead can both watch the same Claude Tag session and steer it before the pull request goes up.
Winner: Claude Tag. Of these two, only Claude Tag opens pull requests in the codebase you already have.

Which one handles email and meetings, Claude Tag or Lindy?
Lindy. Each person links their own inbox, calendar, and phone, so Lindy triages email, books meetings, takes notes, and sends the follow-up. Claude Tag reaches email and calendars only through the connectors your Claude organization has added.
Lindy's routines fire on the moments that matter for this kind of work: a meeting ending, a message arriving, a call coming up.
Winner: Lindy. Personal assistance is what each Lindy seat pays for.

How do Claude Tag and Lindy keep shared and private memory apart?
Claude Tag separates memory by where the conversation happens: each channel, the workspace, and each DM. Lindy separates it by file: private personal files, workspace-readable team files, and read-only system files.
In Claude Tag, public channels add to workspace memory, private channels read it but only write their own notes, and DMs and group DMs keep separate memory. If a public channel later becomes private, notes it already shared stay in workspace memory.
In Lindy, everyone can read team files, only owners and admins edit them, and every change is versioned. Personal and team skills follow the same split, and Lindy picks the relevant skill without a command.
Winner: Lindy. Versioned team files make it easy to check and correct what the assistant believes.

Is Claude Tag or Lindy more secure?
As of October 2026, both are SOC 2 Type II. Anthropic adds ISO 27001 and ISO 42001, and Claude Enterprise adds SCIM, audit logs, custom retention, and a HIPAA-ready offering. Lindy's Enterprise plan adds a HIPAA agreement, SSO, SCIM, and audit logs.
Claude Tag keeps guest channels blocked until an admin changes the setting, and deletes its conversations within 30 days of disconnecting.
Lindy encrypts data in transit and at rest, keeps no customer data for model training, and asks before actions you mark for approval.
Winner: Claude Tag, because the ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 certificates go beyond Lindy's SOC 2 Type II. For a HIPAA agreement, either works on its enterprise plan.

Which is faster to set up, Claude Tag or Lindy?
Claude Tag needs a Claude organization Owner or Primary Owner and a Slack admin to configure it once for everyone. Lindy needs a paid Slack plan for new installs, then each person accepts an invite and links their own email, calendar, and phone.
Claude Tag's one-time setup covers pairing, Routines, credentials, repositories, channels, and on Team plans a funded usage balance. After that, people just tag Claude.
Lindy's setup is spread across the team. Installing the Slack app doesn't give anyone inbox access, and that per-person linking is what makes its personal assistance work.
Winner: Claude Tag. Two admins finish the setup, and nobody else has to do anything.

What do Claude Tag and Lindy cost?
As of October 2026, Claude Tag needs a Claude Team Standard seat at $25 a month, or $20 billed yearly, with channel work billed to the organization by usage. Lindy costs $49.99 per active user per month with 5,000 credits each, pooled, so ten people pay $499.90.

| Enterprise | Claude TagSelf-serve from 20 seats; SCIM, audit logs, HIPAA | LindyCustom pricing, SSO, SCIM, HIPAA, audit logs |
For ten people, here's the month before extra usage:
Claude Tag
$250 per month for ten seats + usage
- 10 × $25 Team Standard seats billed monthly, or $200 yearly
- Channel work billed to the organization by usage
- Spend limits per organization and per channel
Lindy Team
$499.90 per month for ten active users
- 10 × $49.99, each seat adding 5,000 credits to the pool
- Top-ups at $10 per 1,000 credits
- Slack joiners get a seven-day introduction
With Claude Tag, member access can include everyone in Slack, and people without a Claude account get an onboarding allowance, so the channel bill follows usage rather than headcount. With Lindy, every person who mentions it becomes a seat, and heavy months drain the pool.
Winner: Claude Tag on the ten-person bill. Lindy for trying it before you pay.

How do Claude Tag and Lindy handle the same meeting follow-up?
Ask Claude Tag and Lindy to draft follow-ups only for accounts that had a meeting and haven't been followed up. Lake had its meeting with no follow-up yet, so Lake is the only draft.
Hill already got its follow-up, and Field's meeting hasn't happened. Lindy reads the meeting from the linked calendar and its own notes; Claude Tag reads it from whatever your channel's connected tools can see. The one that already knows the meeting happened saves your team a step every week.
What do Claude Tag and Lindy users say in reviews?
As of October 2026, Lindy rates 4.9 out of 5 on G2 from about 170 reviews and 1.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 40.
Lindy's G2 reviewers point to quick setup and useful automations. On Trustpilot, the complaints center on credits running out faster than expected, billing after cancellation, and support that answers slowly.

Shared notes and skills carry over as text. Lindy's personal files stay with each person, and Claude Tag's private-channel notes stay in that channel.
Copy only team-level context, recreate each routine with its trigger and destination, and reconnect inboxes and calendars under the right person.

@Maito I just finished the Brightline demo. They want SAML with Okta before they sign. Update the deal in HubSpot and tell me if we support it.
We support SAML, but our Okta setup guide still shows the old metadata URL, which fails. PR #266 updates the guide and the URL in the settings help text. Deal is updated in HubSpot with the requirement, and a follow-up to Brightline with the corrected guide is drafted in your Gmail.
